The blade itself is made of plastic and painted to look metallic so that it is convention safe.
Can you teach me how to make it?
1st, I found an existing Real knife and traced out the shapes. (blade and handle) You might want to size down the handle a bit to leave room for it to fit inside the grip. If the knife doesn't have a hole in the blade, just add one lol.
2nd, I traced those shapes on to some thin but sturdy plastic. (Obtained from a plastic storage box)
-2 identical pieces for the blade, glued together.
-2 identical pieced for the handle, one on ether side of the blade.
3rd, I drilled a hole in the plastic blade and both handle pieces and riveted them together. That makes the folding mechanism.
4th, I used metallic gray spray paint on the blade, followed by a good layer of spray gloss.
5th, I used the original knifes rubber handle, but you could just glue a few layers of funfoam (craft foam), and paint on a few coats of plasti-dip (available at Lows and on the internet) and your done!
Hope that helps!
Feel free to ask away if you have any more questions. =]
If you can part with 50-60 usd you can buy the real thing!
That would be a fun purchase sometime, thanks!
(not convention legal, but fun none the less!)
thank you for posting this!!!!!!!
